Coffee School
Dr. Leis began his career in education as a teacher and coach at Ben Hill Middle School in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He later moved to Fitzgerald High School where he taught history, civics and geography and also coached tennis, football and soccer. Dr. Leis accepted his first administrative position as the alternative school director and later he was named athletic director for the Ben Hill County Schools. He moved to Ben Hill Elementary School as an assistant principal and eventually became principal at Ben Hill Elementary.Dr. Leis would finish his tenure in the Ben Hill County Schools as the principal at Fitzgerald High School. In 2009, he decided to expand his career goals and he became the Superintendent for the Wayne County School System. For the past year he has served as the Superintendent of the Coffee County School System in Douglas, GA. Under his leadership the Coffee County School System has initiated a comprehensive strategic planning process and implemented the E-Board meeting management system.
